I love pets and I have always had pets. I had some massive dogs and horses when I was younger. But when I went away to college I couldn’t take my pets with me. I had to leave them at home. I missed them everyday. So, I found some new pets at the nearby pet store. I looked around and found a hamster and bird that I really liked. I bought them and we walked home to my apartment.

While in college I relocated around several times and had to move my pets. One of these moves was several thousand of miles way. Since I had done shorter moves with my pets, I thought this would not be much different. However, I had underestimated the issues involved with relocating pets several thousands of miles away. As much as I wanted to I would not be able to move the pets myself as I needed to be away during the move. Life gets hectic sometimes and I couldn’t get the schedules to line up that would allow me to drive my pets to our new location.

I called the movers and got free moving quotes. Then I arranged for my vehicle, my furniture and other belongings to be relocated. In speaking with them I mentioned that I have some pets that needed to be relocated as well. They told me that the instant moving quotes did not include pets. This lead to an interesting discussion on how were my pets going to be moved. They did not move pets. They recommended I find some other company to move my pets.

So, I called around and checked with my friends, the pet store and a veterinarian. They gave me some suggestions about people and companies that would move my pets for me. This was encouraging as I had no idea as to how my pets were going to be relocated.

I called a company that specializes in moving pets. I requested that they send me some quotes for long distance moving of my pets. They sent me a form that had many questions about my pets and what type of care, food, and exercise they needed during the move. After filling out the form and returning it, they sent me the long distance moving quote for moving my pets.

After reading about the special care they would provide and items that I didn’t think about, I felt confident that my pets would be properly relocated. They were very nice and my pets survived the move. I was excited to see them at the other end of the move. Now if I could only get my schedule to work out so that I can survive as well as they did.
